Hello, we are Mathew and Lynette two mountain bikers originally from the UK who are now living in Rotorua, New Zealand.

We have been running the MORTOP bottom brackets and headsets for over a year and have found them to be very reliable and simple to service.

Here are reviews we would like to share

Our first impression of the MORTOP bottom bracket

The Screwing BB BSA bottom bracket is extremely clean-looking and easy to fit. We ride thousands of kilometres a year on extremely technical terrain. Taniwha trail is one of them, where our equipment is expected to take a lot of hard hits.

The highlights of the bottom bracket amazed us

DH riders would replace the bearing after once race season (around 25,000m descending). Normally, we need to replace the new bottom bracket set but now we can replace the bearing only it saves lots of time. The bottom bracket is easy to maintain and quick to swap to new bearings. The Fun 5° bearing is tapered. It has been good that we can change bearings out quickly with our hands and with very few tools.

About maintaining the BB after riding

Maintained bearings play a role in extending the life span and ensuring effective rolling. The routes we rode were rugged and dusty. Between 500-700km we do the maintenance, depending on BB service.

Race achievements together with the MORTOP bottom bracket

Lynette:

2nd Red Bull Fox Hunt

1st Overall DH champion NZ

1st Crankworx DH (open)

15th Crankworx Dual slalom (pro)

Mathew:

3rd place masters Rotorua National DH round.

The MORTOP components have been consistently smooth feeling by AWAKE grease applied in the bearing. The bearings are also hard-wearing throughout our modest rides in the depths of winter and hold up well and dry and dusty summer heat.
